Concrete Pours at Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance

What Work is Taking Place?

Five concrete pours will take place at the Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance site between July and September 2020.  The concrete will form walls in the station’s concourse level. A concrete pump will be placed within the work zone on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Russell Hill Road and several concrete trucks will deliver concrete to the site each hour.  Each pour will take approximately five (5) to 14 hours to complete.

Hours of Work

• Concrete pours are scheduled for the following dates, beginning as early as 5:00 a.m. for five (5) – 12 hours:
• • July 27, 2020
  • August 4, 2020  August 5, 2020
  • August 18, 2020  August 15, 2020
  • August 28, 2020  August 17, 2020
  • September 23, 2020
• This activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

• Traffic control personnel will be present to assist with truck entry and egress
• There is no change to the current traffic configuration and pedestrian routes associated with this work
• Chaplin Cres and the Chaplin-Russell Hill laneway will remain closed until July 31, 2020 The laneway reopened August 1, 2020
• Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Transit Information

• TTC bus route 14 Glencairn is currently on detour to accommodate the ongoing closure of Chaplin Cres
• The westbound bus will turn right onto Tarlton Rd, left onto Eglinton Ave and continue north on Chaplin Cres
• The eastbound bus will turn left onto Eglinton Ave, right onto Russell Hill Rd and continue south on Chaplin Cres
• The TTC is no longer detouring in this area
