What Work is Taking Place?

• As early as Tuesday, April 21, 2020, crews will perform a concrete pour at the main entrance of Avenue Station. The concrete will form one of the permanent station structures underground. To safely carry out the works, westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane at the Main Entrance. The pour will begin at 1:00 p.m. and take approximately twelve (12) hours to complete.  After the pour is complete, the lane will re-open.

•   Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

• Lane reductions will be required to facilitate concrete pours at the station’s Main Entrance.
• Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.
• 4+ concrete trucks are expected per hour.
• Noise from construction equipment can be expected.
• Staging of concrete trucks at Eglinton Park and within the main entrance work zone.

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

• Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane at the Main Entrance.
• Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present while this work takes place.
• All pedestrian routes will remain the same.

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
