Upcoming Concrete Pours at Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance

What Work is Taking Place?

  • In May and June 2020, several concrete pours will be carried out at the Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance site.  The Tertiary Entrance is located on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, east of Chaplin Crescent and adjacent the Toronto Fire Station 135 (641 Eglinton Avenue West).  The concrete will form the future walls and slabs of the entrance.  During each pour, concrete pumps will be setup around the work zone and concrete trucks will enter the site to deliver concrete.

Hours of Work

  • Concrete pours at the Tertiary Entrance are scheduled for the following dates:

Tuesday May 5, 2020
Tuesday May 12, 2020
Friday May 15, 2020
Friday May 22, 2020

  • Concrete pours will begin as early as 5:00 a.m. and last for five or more hours
  • The schedule is tentative; dates are subject to change
  • This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather

What to Expect

  • Noise from construction activity, including concrete trucks and equipment can be expected
  • Concrete pumps will be placed within work zones
  • Concrete trucks will queue within work zones and traffic tapers on Eglinton Ave and Chaplin Cres
  • Concrete trucks may access the work zone via the Chaplin-Russell Hill lane
  • 10+ concrete trucks per hour can be expected during each pour

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • No change to the existing traffic conditions is anticipated during these pours.

Travelling Smart during Construction


Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
